Friday night (August 10th) the stunning mother, wife and superstar, Beyonce, crooned the crowd at The United Nations in New York City performing her song “I Was Here” in the UN’s General Assembly Hall in honor of World Humanitarian Day (August 19th). “We all see the headlines and we think, ‘What can I really do to help?’ World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference,” said Beyonce.

“I Was Here” is a song written by Diane Warren from the R&B superstar’s fourth studio album, 4 (2011). The song speaks of leaving one’s mark in the world. It’s safe to say the diva will also leave her mark for World Humanitarian Day 2012.
