Record Executive and Entrepreneur Andre Young, better known by his stage name Dr. Dre, takes the #5 spot on the Highest-Paid Celebrities Forbes list. The 47-year-old super-producer’s source of wealth…music, electronics and “self-made.” As of May 2012 the CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and former co-owner of Death Row Records, reported earnings of over $110 million.
According to Forbes, “handset maker HTC paid $300 million for a 51% stake in Beats by Dr. Dre, the headphone company he co-founded with Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine in 2006. Each owned about a third of the company, pocketing about $100 million apiece, before taxes, from last summer’s deal.”
