The Other Guys: Mitt and Barack weren’t the only 2 candidates to debate last night.
By Mehka
If you think that Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are the only candidates running for President, then you have another thing coming. While when Barack and Mitt go toe to toe, the whole world pays attention. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t other voices and parties ready to contend that they would be a better choice for POTUS.
So on Thursday the 18th of October, Gary Johnson of the Libertarian party and Dr. Jill Stein from the Green Party will go heads up for a debate. The debate will be brought to you by IVN.us and will be the first ever online Presidential debate. Johnson will debate from Laramie Wyoming, while Dr. Stein will be contending from Seattle Washington. Many will remember Dr. Stein’s name from last night as she was arrested outside of Hofstra University while protesting her exclusion from the debate.
Working with Google +, IVN.us will host the event using a live Google + Hangout. Each participant will appear using video conference technology and will respond to questions submitted to one another online. The debate will focus on 5 topics, Tax and Economic Policy, Energy, Housing and Financial, Regulation, Foreign Policy, and one topic selected based upon online user response.
The debate can be viewed live on October 18, 2012 beginning at 7:00 pm eastern time, 4:00 p.m. Pacific on IVN.us, or on IVN.us’ Google+ and YouTube page. The event will be recorded and can be viewed at either location following the debate.
