NBC News/Wall Street Journal released a shocking report Sunday that shows that Obama and Romney are tied at 47% in this election. With not even two more weeks to go until we reach Election Day, this news is startling for voters. In the most recent polls, Obama has held a lead of 49-46 among likely voters, but this was before his “not so good” performance at the first presidential debate on Oct. 3rd. Researchers believe this may have swayed the contest’s dynamics.

Now, unfortunately another startling fact from this research is that, it was done after the second debate of last week. Even though commentators declared this debate performance of Obama’s much better than the previous one, his opponent remains “neck and neck” with him in the race. Mitt Romney had two strong debate runs, and this plays a huge part in today’s numbers.

These numbers produced many red flags for Obama’s camp. Political scientist, Larry Sabato, of the University of Virginia said, “These numbers were more than red flags for the Obama campaign. They were fireworks.”

Update: Last night’s debate gave President Obama the needed bump in the polls which shows he has received a 15 percent  rise in voters who were previously undecided before the debate.
