Roc Beef Finally Over? @DameDash Talks About His Days With Roc And His Respect For @JayZ and @Kanyewest ! (Video Inside)

There was no secret that co-founders of Roc-a-Fella Records, Jay-Z and Dame Dash, had some unresolved issues with one another after the record label executive collaboration called it quits. It seems like today, in 2012, their tension may be fading away. In a recent interview with Global Grind, Dame Dash reminisced about his past with Jay Z.

The 90’s label executive started his commentary out with praises of both Jigga Man and Kanye West. He claims that he is proud of both artists’ success. He told Global Grind that after all of these years, there is no resentment on his behalf for either one of the rappers.
“Look at Jay-Z…look at Kanye – every success they’ve had I’m proud of,” he said. “Every time I see them on television, I know what I did. In life, there’s tragedies – everyone has them, so even through the tragedies, I was able to deal with [them] in a way that other people usually can’t…I have nothing but positive things to say about [Jay-Z].”

He continued to reflect on his time with the Roc label, and his role as a crew member. He remembers lots of old and good memories, but he told Global Grind that he has grown too old for that type of lifestyle he lead during that time.

“Back then, I was insecure. I was out [there] because I was worried about people knowing about what I was doing,” he said. “I wanted everybody to know what I was doing because no one knew what I was doing. A true business person is not meant to be in front of a camera, but Roc-A-Fella was us, and I was 20-something years old. But I evolved out of that, and again, it was a different business model…Hell no [I don’t miss those days]…but I know for the age I was, I was in my 20s, I know I was having a lot of fun.”

Roc-A-Fella Records was a record label  founded by Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, Damon “Dame” Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The label produced various hits and placed artists into hip hop such as Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, and others.

In the present, Dame talks about his new ownership of his label BluRoc Records[DD172] as well as couple of magazines.
