Lauryn Hill spoke some comments at her Dallas concert with Nas, just recently, that seemed to be aimed directly at her fellow team members [Fugees]. She sent a subliminal message to Wyclef Jean, referring to the former politician candidate/rapper as being a pawn.
Every since Wyclef Jean released the news of his autobiography titled Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story, in which will reveal many new details of his rocky relationship with Lauryn Hill, people have been craving a response from Hill on the issue. Now, several months later, after the release of Wyclef’s actual book, Hill finally responds to the claims made in Purpose.
Even though Wyclef’s name was never muttered by Lauryn, this is what she said. “Be careful how you judge. A lot of deception out there. A lot of misunderstanding out there. A lot of miscommunication out there. A lot of false information out there. A whole lot and notice after all the people that just talk, talk, talk, who’s the silent one? And you know why? Let me tell you why I don’t really chat back. Because I know that my brothers and my sisters are often times pawns in a bigger scheme. So when they, under pressure, attack me I love them still.”
With self confident confirmation about “time” and “truth”, the New Jersey native, rapper/actress/singer concluded with this:
“I’m not going to play my hand like the suppressive system would have me play my hand, because I know the oppression that took place in Haiti and Jamaica and America and Africa and Europe. So just be patient and the truth will always surface,” Hill revealed.
