Global Grind’s, Rachel Hislop, interviewed Denzel Washington recently on his latest film, Flight and its high volume action content and filming experience. In this new Hollywood movie, the 57 year old leading actor takes on the role of pilot Whip Whitaker, who must save a flight from crashing, while finding out a troublesome discovery.

Denzel stated that the role of Whip Whitaker was somewhat difficult for him. He also told the reporter, that one name he will not be playing anytime soon will be President Barack O’bama.

“By the time it’s time to make the movie about Barack Obama, I’ll be too old to play Barack Obama. The story, I mean…The man is too young, and I mean the story is not told yet. If you make a movie about him up until now… that sounds more like a television movie. He has a lot of life to live, and well, let him live it.”

Denzel gave some pretty ideal reasons for denying the role, but he also reminded the interviewer of how there has to be a younger black actor stepping up to follow his platform.
