Former Bad Boy Records artist G-Dep was hit with a 15-years-to-life prison term earlier this year after he confessed to a 1993 murder in Manhattan. The shooting and killing Job Henkel went un-solved for years until Dep confessed that he killed him while attempting to rob him. He’s dealing with his sentence in his own way and in an interview with New York Magazine, G-Dep says that he’s satisfied with the outcome of his murder trial.

“I was happy,” he said of receiving the sentence. “It sounds crazy to say you were happy about getting a fifteen-to-life-sentence, but I was. It just seemed to me like the end of a nightmare. I was living in 1993 for seventeen years.”

G-Dep is currently working on an autobiography titled “Autobiographical Rapping Dude: The Rhyme Book”. G-Dep described that fateful night in his confession video. Watch it here
