Today Kevin Clash, the voice behind the popular Sesame Street character Elmo, resigned after  the second allegation in weeks that he engaged in underage sex with boys. The latest allegation comes from Cecil Singleton who claimes that he met Clash in 1993 on a phone chat. Singleton claims he and Clash had sex when he was just 15 and Clash was 32.
According to TMZ, Sesame Workshop made this statement:  “Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from Sesame Street. This is a sad day for Sesame Street.”
