Rihanna’s 777 tour not only contained my favorite number, but it rocked in attendance, from the waving crowds in the United States, to the cranking audience in the United Kingdom.
We all joined Chris Brown’s addiction at her concert performance across seas and realized that she has what it takes to sweep up the world. Billboard released last month that “Apologetic” was sitting at the top of their 200 list, and sales don’t seem to be slowing up. Exceeding 238,000 it’s first week, Black Friday turned out to be a dope one for Rihanna. When it comes to Young Money’s first lady, the record selling story is the exact opposite.
Now, just recently Nicki Minaj gave commentary on major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy would not be carrying her second album Roman Reloaded: The ReUp. The hook singing female emcee told fans that Walmart, Target, Best Buy decided not to carry the album because of her previous album sales with the first Pink Friday. Unfortunately, her sales are looking rather dry and the fire spitter blames the two retailers for their lack of participation.
Now just recently Nicki Minaj and Steve Tyler exchanged words over a comment Tyler made. Nicki took major offense to Tyler’s prediction that she wouldn’t like a contestant named “Bob Dylan” if he were on the show. She tweeted this:
Amazon and iTunes are always other outlets, and the Roman Reloaded album was sold on both. Plus, Slant Magazine gave Nicki 1.5 stars and called it an album disaster. So is it the major retailer’s fault? I don’t know, but check out a live Rihanna performance of “Stay” off of the Apologetic album:
