Today, Atlanta’s V-103 morning show hosts, Frank Ski and Wanda Smith announced that they’ll be leaving the show. At 7 AM, Frank Ski announced that he would be leaving V-103 saying:
“We will definitely miss waking up every morning and coming into this studio and doing what we do every day, but we know God has other plans and other things He wants us to do… I want to expand and grow.”
An hour later, co-host Wanda Smith announced at 8 AM that she would be leaving as well saying:
“It’s been fun. It’s been overwhelming… Atlanta has been good to me..”
The duo have been on air for fourteen years, first starting off as just the Frank Ski Show but eventually Wanda Smith earned her name in the title and it was later turned into The Frank & Wanda Morning Show. It’s been reported that Frank Ski left due to negotiation issues with CBS Radio, as he’s been under temporary contract for the past couple of months.
The two will be replaced with V-103 afternoon DJ and Atlanta veteran, Ryan Cameron.
Members of the Atlanta community such as Mayor Kasim Reed have already started pouring out heartfelt goodbyes to Frank and Wanda. Mayor Reed called into the show this morning around 9 AM saying “This is a victory lap… Frank and Wanda will continue to be part of the city. They’ve been the voice of Atlanta”. Frank announced that the last day of the show will be on December 20.
