Today (December 16) marks the one year anniversary of Brick Squad member and rapper Slim Dunkin’s senseless death. The 24 year-old rapper whose real name was Mario Hamilton was gunned down outside of an Atlanta studio last year after allegedly getting into an altercation over candy.
Former rapper, Vinson Hardimon, also known as Young Vito was charged in January of 2012 for the murder of Slim Dunkin and is still being held without bond.
Fellow Brick Squad member, Waka Flocka took Slim’s death pretty hard tweeting things like “WISH IT WAS ME … MY F—ING RIGHT HAND IS GONE,” and “damn I feel dead”, and now it’s been a full year since the tragedy.
Earlier this year Hip Hop Enquirer’s Dennis Byron got the chance to talk with Janet Wallace, Slim’s mother. When asked about justice for her son she responded, “I do not want to see any retaliation for my son’s death other than the person responsible is brought to justice”. HHE once again sends our condolences to Slim’s family, and will continue to keep you posted on updates surrounding the trial. On Monday in a Atlanta courtroom, Vinson Hardimon aka Yung Vito will ask a judge again for bond so he can be released pending his upcoming trial.
We spoke exclusively with Ms. Wallace regarding her son’s killer upcoming motion and she is as adamant as before that she does not want to see him released from jail.
