Congrats to the Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Jarvis who just recently signed a new deal with Capitol Records! After signing with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings back in 2004 and making a couple of moves since then, it looks like the singer/songwriter has found a new home at Capitol.
The last we heard from Jarvis was in September after the release of his mixtape, Heartache which featured appearances from Waka Flocka, DJ Khaled and Lil Scrappy. The mixtape also featured Jarvis’ latest single “Make A Little Room”. The 23-year old R&B star is now looking to the future and prepping his upcoming album for a 2013 release.
Jarvis claims that with the new album he isn’t looking to bring you the trendy, sometimes robotic R&B that is captivating the radio and internet right now. Instead he says he’s staying true to himself.
“I want to bring some of the soul back to R&B but also come with a little flair… The music I’m making is really about what I feel has been lost: emotion. I’m not chasing a sound, a look … not anything. I’m doing me.”
