In one of his rare interviews with Yourblackworld.net, Min. Louis Farrakhan sat down with Dr. Boyce Watkins to talk about the movie Django Unchained and the Nation of Islam leader had a very provocative view on the subject as he shared his thoughts about where the movie would eventually take America.

Min. Farrakhan interpreted the movie to be “preparation for a race war.”
“To me, the movie had a purpose,” he said. “If a black man came out of that movie thinking like Django and white people came out of that movie seeing the slaughter of white people and they are armed to the teeth, it’s preparation for a race war.”
Minister Louis Farrakhan, born on May 11, 1933 in Bronx, N.Y., was reared in a highly disciplined and spiritual household in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Raised by his mother, a native of St. Kitts, Louis and his brother Alvan learned early the value of work, responsibility and intellectual development. Having a strong sensitivity to the plight of Black people, his mother engaged her sons in conversations about the struggle for freedom, justice and equality. She also exposed them to progressive material such as the Crisis magazine, published by the NAACP.
So this begs the question, what was Quentin Tarantino’s motivation for creating this type of script? Did he have a hidden agenda or was it just pure entertainment for the director?
