Legendary artist and hip-hop pioneer himself, Slick Rick celebrated his 47th birthday this past weekend with a sold-out performance at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City. Backed by a full band, Rick performed some of his classic hits for the sold-out crowd. Videos were shown throughout the performance of fellow pioneers Special Ed, Biz Markie, Chubb Rock, MC Lyte as well as Sway Calloway and Talib Kewli wishing Rick a happy birthday. Salute to hip-hop’s first King. Long live the ruler.
