One Atlanta Falcons fan took the 28-24 loss of the Atlanta Falcons to the San Francisco 49ers pretty hard yesterday after the NFC Championship. According to Atlanta’s WSB TV News, a 49ers fan allegedly cut/slashed a Falcons fan in the neck, after the Falcons fan hit the man. The altercation went down just minutes after the game ended in one of the parking lots of the Georgia Dome.
A witness on the scene made this statement:
“Well, one of the falcons Fans just kept talking, telling him, “You ain’t going to come here and win and nothing,’ and he hit the man, and that’s what happened. The man went into his pocket and cut him,”
Police were forced to use pepper spray on the crowd in an attempt to keep things under control. The Falcons fan is currently in stable condition and recovering after being taken by ambulance to Grady Hospital. The name of the hospitalized victim has not yet been released, but he has been identified as a 35-year old man.
As of Sunday morning, reports claim that the 49ers fan is still on the loose. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police Department is currently investigating the fight along with Atlanta PD. Check out a clip below from WSB’s coverage of the altercation moments after it happened.
