It looks like former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bunny Wailer and a bunch of other real rasta men are not feeling Snoop Dogg’s latest decision to change his name to Snoop Lion and embrace the Rasta lifestyle.

According to TMZ, Bunny Wailer and a group known as the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council are claiming that Snoop has failed to meet “contractual , moral and verbal commitments” needed to truly be a member of the Rastafarian lifestyle.

Last year Snoop made a movie titled, “Reincarnated” in which he documented his new rasta lifestyle as well as the making of his first reggae album, where he claimed that he had to find a “new path” and that the Rastafari life “called him”. But in the eyes of the rastafarians such as the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council, “smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indeginous Culture!” as they stated in their 7-page letter to  Snoop.

The group is now suing Snoop unless he stops using the name Snoop “Lion” and coughs up some “financial and moral support” for the rasta community. Demanding that Snoop pay financial support to the lifestyle doesn’t seem quite “rastafari” either, but we’ll keep you updated on the story.
