Breaking News: Rick Ross Victim In Shooting and Crashes Rolls Royce (Video Inside)

According to reports at NBC Miami, Fort Lauderdale police are now investigating a shooting that led to rapper Rick Ross and a female passenger crashing his Rolls Royce into an apartment building earlier this morning (Jan. 28).

Police are stating that a gunman opened fire on William Leonard Roberts aka Ricky Rosay aka Rick Ross while the Maybach Music recording artist was leaving a entertainment venue. In a rush to get to safety and away from the gunfire, the rapper crashed his vehicle while riding with a female passenger.

TMZ is reporting the following:

Rick Ross‘ Rolls-Royce smashed into a building in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida early this morning … while trying to escape from a gunman who opened fire on the car … this according to multiple reports.

Ross was not shot during the incident — nor was a female who was also inside the car.

According to local reports, “dozens” of shots were fired at the vehicle around 5AM — none of which hit the Rolls. Several buildings in the area WERE struck by gunfire.

Ross’ Rolls reportedly crashed into a building while trying to speed away from the gunfire.

So far, cops have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting — and have not identified any suspects.

This isn’t the first time Rick Ross’ safety has been put in jeopardy. Just last month, the rap star received death threats from gang members belonging to the Gangster Disciples and even though he has discredited the level of danger he may be in, the rapper has beefed up his security detail.

The threats supposedly interrupted Rozay’s MMG tour in 2012. The rapper had allegedly been threatened by chapters of the gangs in Alabama and North Carolina.

As of now, no reports have surfaced showing exactly who is behind this incident, but law officials are still searching for the gunman (or gunmen).
