Oddfuture singer Frank Ocean is back in the studio recording his sophomore album. Last year’s Channel Orange was such a huge success for Ocean, it was considered “Album of the Year” and actually earned him a couple of Grammys.
Frank would not give away too much information about his new album when he sat down with BBC Radio One’s Zane Lowe last week. Lowe wasn’t too successful in getting him to spill much of the beans however Frank finally said, “I am only 11 songs in, and the sequel will be another cohesive thing, bordering on a concept record.”
Ocean also said that he had already spent time in the studio with The Neptunes producer Pharrell and plans on to collaborate with Danger Mouse.
“At the end of Channel Orange, there’s Golden Girl and it is a beach scene. I kind of wanted to extend that feel into the next record.” He explained. Ocean plans on renting a place in Bora Bora to help him focus and record the album.
