Actor Wesley Snipes, the star of “Jungle Fever” and “Blade” Trilogy was released to a hallway house in New York City after serving five years in federal prison for tax evasion and we are happy to say that we are looking forward to his next movie too.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Snipes was released on April 2 and will have to stay on house arrest for the next 3 months before he can continue to do what he does best and that is to make “kick ass” movies.
The 51 year-old actor was convicted In 2008, Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns. He reported to prison on December 9, 2010. He was initially sentenced to McKean Federal Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison in northwest Pennsylvania. He finished out his sentence in a medium security prison that housed about 290 white collared criminals. Because his convictions didn’t contain any felonies, the actor will be allowed to possess firearms as well as vote. Check out Mr. Snipes one-on-one interview he did with Entertainment Weekly before his incarceration.
The moral of this story is that don’t wait until April 16 to file your tax returns unless you plan on filing an extension.
