One of The Alleged Boston Marathon Bombers Killed And His Brother Is On The Run
Authorities have found and killed one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing. According to Reuters, police killed the man in a shootout and mounted house house-to-house searches for a second man on Friday, with much of the city under virtual lock-down after a bloody night of shooting and explosions in the streets.
A national security official identified the hunted man as Dzhokar A. Tsarnaev, 19, and said the dead suspect was his brother, Tamerlan Tsarneav, 26. The brothers had been in the United States for several years, the official said.
According to CNN, the slain suspect was wearing explosives and a triggering device when he died.
CNN also states that according to a source briefed on the investigation, the brothers came from the Russian Caucasus and had moved to Kazakhstan at a young age before coming to the United States several years ago. A statement from the office of Chechnya’s president echoed that:
“According to preliminary information, coming from the relevant agencies, the Tsarnaev family moved many years ago out of Chechnya to another Russian region,” press secretary Alvi Kamirov told Russia’s semi-official Interfax news agency. “After that they lived for some time in Kazakhstan, and from there went to the U.S. where the family members received a residence permit. Therefore the individuals concerned did not live as adults in Chechnya.”
A MIT police officer was also allegedly killed by the brothers last night. The town of Watertown, Massachusetts is currently on lockdown as police and authorities relentlessly search for the 19-year-old murdered.
Hopefully they can take him alive because many questions still need to be answered
