Assata Shakur Named As First Woman On FBI’s List Of Most Wanted Terrorists… Don’t Believe The Hype [Video]
It’s been forty years and the bullshit and lies are at an all-time high in regards to one of our African-American she-roes Assata Shakur as the U.S. government has just placed one of our mothers on the FBI’s Most Wanted List of Terrorists and even upped the ante to $2-million for her capture. Assata is the first women to make the list.
Ms. Shakur, a/k/a Joanne Chesimard (government name) has been hiding in Cuba since her escape after being rail roaded and convicted of killing a white New Jersey state trooper back in 1973.
The godmother of Tupac, Assata was one of the freedom fighters on the frontline and was an active member of The Black Panther Party and later joined the B.L.A. (Black Liberation Army) where she helped teach Black awareness and assisted in clothing, educational and food drives within many dilapidated communities, in efforts to help empower the everyday people.
Because of her fight and standing up against The United States racial system (which still exists today… Don’t be fooled because we got a “Black” President), Assata Shakur was named an enemy of the state and targeted by the F.B.I.’s ‘COINTELPRO’ agenda which was created by then F.B.I.’s cross dressing director J. Edgar Hoover.
COINTELPRO’s main mission was to discredit and tear apart Black leaders and organizations including Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., and The Nation Of Islam and eventually played a huge hand in purposely flooding the Black community with drugs and alcohol to kill any movements of a revolutionary uprise.
Hence the F.B.I. and COINTELPRO accused Shakur and the B.L.A. of committing a slew of violent acts, including armed robbery, bank heists, kidnapping, attempted murder and murder. Assata was tagged by investigators as being ‘the revolutionary mother hen’ and ‘the soul of the B.L.A.’; alleging that she was responsible for a ‘series of cold-blooded murders of New York City police officers’, which put her and some of her comrades on the F.B.I.’s Most Wanted List back then.
On May 2nd 1973, Assata, along with B.L.A. members Sundiata Acoli and Zayd Shakur (no relation, who was driving) were pulled over by state trooper, James Harper on the NJ Turnpike, near exit 9 in East Brunswick, New Jersey for supposedly speeding and having a broken taillight.
Upon the arrival of backup trooper Werner Foerster, Assata was shot as she held her arms high in surrender, whereupon she retaliated. In the aftermath, Zayd & Foerster were both killed while Assata and Harper were wounded, and taken to local hospitals.
According to NJ state police superintendent at the time, David Kelly,
“As we put it together, the girl fired from within the car, Harper retreated, there was a firefight, and all people involved were shooting.”
Acoli escaped the scene, only to eventually be captured two days later. He was convicted for Foerster’s death in 1974, and sentenced to life. After a mistrial the same year, Assata was finally convicted 3 years later by an all-white jury as an accomplice to the cop’s killing. She was also convicted of assault, attempted-murder and possession of a weapon and was then sentenced to life plus 33 years.
As her must read autobiography tells, On November 2nd 1979, three members of the Black Liberation Army broke her out of NJ’s Clinton Correctional Facility for Women by seizing the visiting area, brandishing previously concealed 45 caliber pistols, taking two correctional officer’s hostage, and hijacking a prison van to escape the premises, then switching vehicles at an undisclosed area and fleeing further.
Tupac’s step-father, Mutulu Shakur, and fellow B.L.A. member Sekou Odinga along with Silvia Baraldini and Marilyn Buck were charged and eventually convicted for aiding Shakur’s courageous escape.
After flying under the radar for a number of years, the political-fugitive surfaced in Cuba in 1984, where she was granted political asylum by El Presidente Fidel Castro, where she remains until this very day. Assata continues to speak out against the exploitive system of capitalism and other social ills.
Now 40 years later, the exact day of the shoot out on the New Jersey Turnpike, the U.S. government and The F.B.I. continue to fight on the lie as they doubled the bounty to capture Assata Shakur.
The Justice Department has offered a $1 million reward for information leading to Shakur’s capture. The additional million is being put up by the state of New Jersey through civil and criminal forfeiture funds and won’t fall on taxpayers.
During a press conference yesterday, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes called Assata’s flight from her slave catchers “an open wound” for troopers in New Jersey and around the country.
According to their lie… report,
Chesimard, as they like to call her by her slave name, was a member of the violent Black Liberation Army and was convicted of the 1973 murder of state trooper Werner Foerster during a routine traffic stop. Foerster and his partner stopped a car carrying Chesimard and two cohorts on the New Jersey Turnpike for a broken tail light. When the troopers approached the car, a gunfight ensued and both troopers were injured. Chesimard then took Foerster’s gun and shot him twice in the head as he lay on the ground. (Cops are never in the wrong to let them tell it.)
New Jersey State Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa added,
“Our resolve to capture Joanne Chesimard does not diminish with the passage of time. Instead, it grows stronger with the knowledge that this killer continues to be free. Our hope is the augmented reward will spur action that will bring Joanne Chesimard back to face the justice she has evaded for far too long.”
According to The A.P., Agent Aaron Ford of The F.B.I.’s Newark Division (How convenient they get the brother to do the dirty work… At least they taught him how, I mean what to read) also stated,
“She is a domestic terrorist who murdered a law enforcement officer execution style. And while we can’t right the wrongs of the past, we can and will continue to pursue justice no matter how long it takes.”
Fortunately for her, Cuba doesn’t have an extradition treaty with The United States and our government also has Cuba listed on a list of state sponsors of terrorism that also includes Iran, Syria and Sudan. Cuba has firmly denied links to terrorism in the past.
Assata Shakur being named as the first woman on The F.B.I.’s Most Wanted Terrorist List must have gotten by most of our new Black leaders (rappers L.M.A.O.) as not one song has dropped since the announcement and this is not directed to truth speakers like Common, Public Enemy, dead prez, Killer Mike and others who have spoken and fought for Assata in the past.
Now is the time to stand up and speak about something with a cause instead of polluting the radio with drugs, women and blowing money like it’s no tomorrow.
Our “Black” President doesn’t get a pass either. Why would he “stain” his legacy by granting Momma Shakur a presidential pardon? He didn’t address the Black on Black crime and rampant murders going on in Chicago until Hadiya Pendleton was killed and that was only because the 15-year old had performed at Barack Obama’s second inauguration just a week before.
But I guess we can’t be mad at him because having an African father and being raised by your white mother and family does not put you in the same shoes as Black man bred in America but that’s another conversation in itself…
