Mannie Fresh Talks About Birdman Replacing Him With Drake & Lil Wayne On New Big Tymers Album
Last week Birdman and Lil Wayne sat with Sway and MTV and discussed several upcoming projects including a new Big Tymers album.
For a brief second, day one Cash Money fans were a little excited thinking that Baby had finally paid his former producer/ rhyme and business partner back royalties that he was stiffed on which caused him to leave the label he sonically built.
(Sigh)… But that wasn’t the case as Baby revealed that the two stunners would not be reconnecting but was instead replacing Mannie with Drake and Lil Wayne.
Mannie spoke with Sway yesterday about the upcoming project without him and Mannie said the same thing we all thought… that ain’t a Big Tymers album.
Giving all respect to Drake and Weezy, Mannie stated,
“I don’t bash Cash Money, Birdman, or none of them. It’s really on, I’m just striving on just getting what I deserve, you know, what I put in. So maybe that’s what [Birdman’s] feelings is. Honestly I think Drake is a great artist, I think Wayne is a great artist, but they not the Big Tymers. It’s kind of like doing a Jackson 5 album with Boyz II Men. Two different eras.Great artists, but Boys II Men not the Jackson 5. I think the people have spoken. You can go on any blog and read the comments”
Baby is delusional with this project because he can put it out but it’s really a slap in the face to the first generation of Cash Money artists who put the label on their back to make it the powerhouse it is today and to be in a position to sign artists like Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Unfortunately Playboy, we don’t luv that…
