Philadelphia Man Shoots Up Strip Club With An AK-47 After A DJ Refuses To Play His Song [Video]
Apparently ignorance is in abundance and Henry Pettigrew is the poster boy. The 21-year-old man allegedly shot up a Philadelphia strip club after the DJ refused to play his song request.
According to police reports, on May 11th, Pettigrew and an accomplice were at the Purple Orchid Gentleman’s Club around 1:55 a.m. when they got into an altercation with club bouncers and club management after the DJ refused his request.
After being forcibly removed by the bouncers, the two men mistook a customer as one of the members of the security team and proceeded to assault him. Footage then shows the victim pulling away in his SUV as Pettigrew pulled out an AK-47 and shot at the truck, striking the man in the right hip.
Lt. Johnny Walker of the Philadelphia Police Department stated,
“Fortunately where it hit him, it hit the flesh of his body and it didn’t hit any vital organs.”
According to Channel 6 News in Philadelphia, the footage then shows Pettigrew running into the club while brandishing the rifle. In this un-thought out plan, the intoxicated gunman then slips and falls but quickly recovers and then proceeds to open the door and lets loose a round.
Walking through the club he then proceeds to the DJ booth and fires at the DJ who took for cover and then just continues to spray indiscriminately.
Walker added,
“You see one of the bullets actually strike the mirror right where [the DJ’s] head would have been, so we’re very fortunate the person did not get struck by the gunfire.”
The camera then shows the gunman turning around and running out of the club.
Pettigrew and his accomplice turned getaway driver then sped off in a light colored sedan which could have been a Hyundai or Mitsubishi. The gunman’s homeboy is still unknown but is described as a black male about 20 to 25 years old, standing 5’9″ to 5’10” tall with a medium build and a goatee. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket over a plaid button shirt, tan cargo shorts and tan boots.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS (8477), text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or through PhillyPolice.com.
Several of the employees have since quit as the gunman remains at large.
Talk about going to jail for something stupid… When they finally arrest him, I can’t wait to hear his excuse. Alcohol isn’t for everybody and fire arms and being under the influence of a controlled substance definitely don’t mix.
Thankfully no one was killed because this could have been even worse.
