50 Cent Pays For The Funeral Of 14-Year-Old D’Aja Robinson Killed On Way Home From Sweet 16 Party
Rappers glorify the streets and ills of their communities every day but few hardly ever give back whether it be monetarily or time.
Well like the MC that he is, Curtis Jackson is not the norm.
The Queens rapper paid for the funeral on Friday of 14-year-old D’aja Robinson who was killed on May 18th on her way home from a sweet 16 birthday party in his former hood of Southside Jamaica, Queens. An idiot shot 9 .40 caliber bullets into the side of a city bus Robinson was riding on, killing the teen before she made it to Jamaica hospital.
50 Cent spared now cost as the young princess’ home going going service included a white carriage drawn by a hoarse.
Taking to his Facebook page, 50 Cent stated,
“People always try and paint negative images about me I’m the most genuine down to earth person and I didn’t forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her. She was pretty, innocent and didn’t deserve to die like that. R.I.P D’Asia Robinson.”
At least 2,500 mourners came out to pay their respects to D’aja Robinson and her family.
According to The NY Daily News, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said that he believes the shooting to be a turf or gang related. The intended target was an unidentified girl associated with the EBK crew who was threatened after making “derogatory” comments on social media about members of the Snow Gang.
Kelly added,
”The 14-year-old girl had nothing to with this. It’s a terrible tragedy, but it’s indicative of the fact that we just have too many guns and too many young people with access to these guns.”
One suspect, 16-year-old Nathaniel Parker was questioned and later released with no charges filed against him in relation to her death.
Nathanial Parker’s attorney, Tim Rountree, also stated that Parker and his mother are in fear of their lives after hearing that there is a bounty on the head of D’aja’s killer.
This is a tragic situation but let the police handle this. We don’t need to lose any more kids over mistaken identity.
Our condolences go out to The Robinson Family… R.I.P. D’aja.
