Snoop Dogg Youth Football League 1st Annual “Family Fun Day”
This past weekend, entertainment icon, Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion, hosted the 1st Annual Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) Family Fun Day at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles.
Snoop enlisted the help of NFL’s Seattle Seahawks’, Pete Carroll, as well as notable NFL players DeMarcus Ware (Dallas Cowboys), DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles), LaMarr Woodley (Pittsburgh Steelers), Ronnie Hillman (Denver Broncos), Willie McGinest (former Cleveland Browns player) and Keith Bullock (former Tennessee Titans player) to come out and coach over 300 youth participants at the Family Fun Day through various drills during the mini-camp.
The day was supported by NFL’s Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll’s “A Better LA” a non-profit organization that supports community-based solutions to restore peace, save lives, and give Angelenos living in inner city LA the resources they need in order to thrive.
The NFL Players also spoke to youth participants about the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and the value of education. Following the mini-camp, youth participants and their families spent quality time together through various fun activities including a carnival with music, BBQ and tacos provided by the “Turbo Taco Truck” from DreamWorks’ upcoming animated film Turbo, where Snoop Dogg lends his voice as the character “Smoove Move.”
