We broke this story, Los Angeles police spoken Timothy Allen has just confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued for rapper Kanye West for allegedly assaulting a photographer at LAX airport today.
According to eyewitnesses, the rapper became enraged at a photographer that was trying to ask him questions.
According to witnesses, Kanye came out of the terminal, and as soon as the videographer started filming him, Kanye allegedly grabbed the man by the shoulders, punched him and tried to wrestle the camera from his hands. One eyewitness stated that he saw Kaye West put his foot in the photographer’s face.
Paramedics were called to the scene, and the photographer was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Kanye and his bodyguard left in their car.
UPDATE:
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Airport Police said in a statement:
“Today at approximately 2:00 p.m., at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (on the arrival level curbside), Los Angeles Airport Police officers were flagged down by a citizen (photographer) who alleged that he was taking pictures of an individual when he was battered by the subject. The alleged subject was not at the location nor was he observed by officers at the scene. LAFD was notified, responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital for medical attention. A police report was taken by the Los Angeles Police Department and the investigation is ongoing.”
