Although many in the industry doubting this would actually work,  Eric Avar’s (the designer) beetle-inspired idea came to life. The NBA star, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway chose the Foamposite as his signature sneaker, and the rest is history. Nike has been known for their past releases flying off the shelves and the new Nike Air Foamposite One Game “Sport Royal” should be no different. The sneaker uses a two-tone silhouette with Wolf Grey nubuck and a glossy outsole with the signature carbon fiber shank plate and the Penny Logo.  Penny Hardaway’s 1997 OG ‘Dark Neon Royal’ Nike Air Foamposite One is an iconic colorway.

This new style has some huge shoes to fill, but it’s off to a good start.  The ‘Sport Royal’ Foamposite One isn’t the average formula but stops short of going for a graphic treatment, utilizing a Wolf Grey eye stay/tongue/lining setup that really draws your eye to the namesake blue upper. They are now on pre-order.  Celebrities from all over have been spotted wearing the NIKE Foamposites sneakers. From Lebron James, Jay-Z, Wale, Spike Lee, Chris Brown and many more. It has been a huge fashion trend in the Hip Hop community.

Today Nike also use Foamposite technology into many other sneakers, including the Air Force 1, ACG models, and the extremely popular Barkley Posite Max. Also, the Foamposite One and Foamposite Pro are now being re-released in fresh new colors and patterns.
