A work day that should have been normal for a Dunkin Donuts employee turned out very bad after police say he mistakenly gave a customer the wrong type of coffee with their order.
A Florida couple – Jeffrey Wright, 27, and Alexis Longo, 22 – attacked the worker, Rajay Hall, after he gave them the wrong flavor coffee. Wright used the butt end of a loaded pistol to beat Hall during the attack, which was captured on surveillance video.
During the wild brawl, Wright started beating Hall in the head with a loaded Taurus Slim .9-mm handgun, which he pulled out of his waistband.
As Wright — a security guard licensed to carry the pistol — pummeled the worker, Longo urged her husband to pull the trigger.
“Several (witnesses) do indicate that the wife did mention that he should shoot the actual manager,” Lauderhill Police spokesman Lt. Mike Butkus told the media.
Wright was booked on charges that include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bond after his arraignment Wednesday.
His wife was charged with battery and was ordered held in lieu of $1,000 bond, records show.
The magistrate judge also ordered his wife held on a one thousand dollar bond as well.
Was it really that serious to react in that manner because of a wrong order?
Was the licensed gun owner standing his ground during the melee?
