Gospel singing duo, Mary Mary, is being sued by former manager Mitchell Solarek. The lawsuit was filed in Tennessee after the group ditched him when they regained some level of fame.
Solarek, who replaced Holly Carter as the group’s manager in 2011, is the owner of Maxim Artist Group. He joined the Mary Mary camp and raved on their WeTV show, “Mary Mary,“ how much he loved working for the group. Solarek thought they were so fresh, so clean and so sweet over the years but isn’t seeing the God in them now.
It is seen on the TV show that Solarek and the duo had a tumultuous relationship, so it comes as no surprise to many that it has ended in discord.
According to TMZ.com, in the documents Solarek says he signed a deal with the group and helped reignite their career, scoring deals worth over $3 million, which would include their WeTV show. Solarek says Mary Mary publicly fired him on said show and is now withholding more than $75,000 in commissions.
Solarek is also suing for the loss of future commissions from merchandise, music, books and sponsorships.
Here is a scene from Mary Mary where Warren, Erica Campbell’s husband, confronts Solarek.
