The person allegedly responsible for committing two brazen bank robberies using what was believed to be a live grenade was apprehended by police just hours ago.

On August 29th, 2013, around 3:30pm, the Wells Fargo bank located at 2204 Peachtree road was robbed by a lone suspect who entered the location and displayed a hand grenade to the teller before demanding that she place all the money from her drawer into a brown satchel.

On September 2nd, 2013, the same individual entered the Wells Fargo bank located at 6140 Jimmy Carter Blvd in Norcross, Ga. and informed the bank teller that he had hand grenade and was not afraid to use it.  The person allegedly responsible for both robberies was later identified by police to be Jeremy Thompson.

Around midnight this morning Jeremy Thompson was spotted by security inside the bus terminal attempting to purchase a bus ticket.  Undercover task force officers and Greyhound security then took the Thompson into custody without incident. The hand grenade that Thompson used in both robberies was recovered and determined to be inert. In addition, Mr. Thompson had outstanding warrants out of Atlanta for Armed Robbery at the time of his arrest and was transported to Gwinnett County Jail.

Thompson is facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted of both crimes.
