George Zimmerman, who was recently found “not guilty” in the Trayvon Martin murder trial, reportedly used a gun to threaten his estranged wife, Shellie and her father today.
According to the 911 call obtained by TMZ, Shellie was terrified Zimmerman would shoot them both. Dispatchers received a call from Shellie who claimed that Zimmerman punched her father in the nose and was making threats while his hand rested on his gun. “He’s just threatening all of us with his firearm … he’s gonna shoot us,” she exclaimed.
After disclosing that Zimmerman smashed her iPad and slashed it with a pocketknife, she said, “I don’t know what he’s capable of.”
It appears that George Zimmerman may not be out of hot water just yet as our sources have just told us that Seminole county prosecutors are analyzing the 911 tape that Shellie Zimmerman is heard crying for police assistance. According to our source, prosecutors believe that a crime may in fact occurred which would mean George Zimmerman may still be charged with a crime. A decision may be forthcoming in the days to come.
Earlier news reports via TMZ.com are that Shellie filed for a divorce last week, after her untimely confession about committing perjury. She pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor perjury charge for lying during a bail hearing after her husband’s arrest for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Martin in February 2012.
This afternoon, Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell told TMZ that Shellie and her father have refused to press charges against Zimmerman and so George hasn’t been arrested.
“My understanding is that she never saw his firearm and that is what she is now telling us. So George Zimmerman is free to go and will not be arrested at this time,” said Bracknell.
This whole situation is questionable. Is Shellie seeking media attention for personal gain in her divorce or is George Zimmerman an innate threat? Something is definitely amiss here.
Some have speculated that the only reason Shellie Zimmerman recanted her story to police is because she felt that George might allege that she was the aggressor and automatically trigger a probation violation against her for the perjury conviction.
