Rick Rubin’s track record could speak for itself. He is definitely one of the most important producers of this generation. With a career of over three decades, Rick Rubin has shaped the sounds of some of our favorite artists. From artists like Johnny Cash to Eminem, there is no surprise that he has also earned Grammys in the “Album of the Year” and “Producer of the Year” categories.
For a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the 50 year old executive returned to the birthplace of Def Jam Records. Def Jam was founded with Russell Simmons in 1983. In the picture above you see Rick in the small dorm room where the very first Def Jam single, T-La Rock’s “Its Yours” was created. The single that official started Def Jam records.
Makes you wonder if the student that currently resides in this room knows just how legendary his surroundings are. Be sure to check out Rick’s current work executive producing on Eminem’s new album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” which will be dropping on November 5th.
