Power 105 and Hot 97It’s so secret that the two popular hip hop radio stations, Power 105 and Hot 97 have been in a deep rooted competition for quite some time. This past weekend, Power 105 hosted Powerhouse 2013, a star-studded concert featuring Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, K. Michelle, Trey Songz, Big Sean, ASAP Mob, Sevyn Streeter, and Fabolous, along with Minaj and Mona Scott Young’s Myx Fusions Activation, Mack Wilds’ Meet and Greet, and much more celebrity action. While most of us were too focused on Nicki Minaj’s words for Kendrick, we totally forgot that Hot 97 was patiently waiting to whip out a witticism and who better than to deliver the message than Peter Rosenberg.

With the “Powerhouse” theme taking over many popular radio stations around the country (syndicated concerts?), did it occur to anyone that the concert could bring serious competition to Hot 97’s popularity? Hot 97 and Power 105 have been flip-flopping in the New York radio rankings since the Summer, and this might put Power 105 over the edge for November. Check out the chart and share your thoughts below.

Who do you tune into? Who do you think will be taking November in the NYC charts?
