True Pioneers of hip-hop may be the best way to describe A Tribe Called Quest. Formed in 1985, A Tribe Called Quest consists of MC/producer Q-Tip, MC Phife Dawg, DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad and rapper Jarobi White. Coming from Queens, New York,Tribe helped create a new sound of hip-hop throughout the 90’s with singles like “Can I Kick It?, “Electric Relaxation” and “Bonita Applebum”. MC’s and producers looking for a blueprint would turn to Tribe’s exceptional full-lenghts and beats to use as their examples.
