In celebration of the 20th anniversary of MLK day, we had the pleasure of covering the premiere of award-winning filmmaker and music journalist Rahiem Shabazz latest documentary “Elementary Genocide: From Primary to Penitentiary”. The premiere took place at the historic Plaza Theater in Atlanta Ga. To honor the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and to encourage the community Shabazz wanted to introduce the film on the King holiday. The documentary celebrates the efforts of Dr. King for educational equality while also showcasing the current failing state of public school systems for African-American youth.

The premiere of “Elementary Genocide” was followed with a inspiring discussion and Q&A featuring a host of influential male community leaders including Dr. Torrance Stephens, director Raheim Shabazz, Supreme Understanding, Kalonji Changa and Edward Garnes Jr where they spoke about the impact of the documentary.
