The James Brown biopic “Get On Up” is finally ready to go and will hit theatres on August 31st. “Get On Up” will star Chadwick Boseman who also starred in the Jacjke Robinson biopic “42.” The film recants “The Godfather of Soul’s” impoverished childhood, time in prison and ascendancy to fame.
It also details the estranged relationship with his mother, played by actress Viola Davis and his early upbringing in a whore house.
Besides being one of the greatest entertainers of all time, James Brown music is also one of the most sampled by Hip-Hop artists.
