It appears that Lauryn Hill may need to hire a new accountant because from the looks of things, her finances are still in disarray. Just six months after being released from prison for tax evasion charges, Lauryn has been hit with several tax liens from the I.R.S., totaling nearly $867,000.
Hit with 7 separate liens, Uncle Sam claims that in 2005, Lauryn Hill failed to pay $422,008.26. For 2006, Hill reportedly owes $19,838.75; 2007, $61,158.50; 2008, $58,405.71; 2009, $30,370.91; 2010, $13,247.73; and 2011, $261,838.19 — a total of $866,868.05.
The former Fugees member was released from federal prison in October 2013 after serving three months for failing to pay taxes on $2.3 million in income over five years.
I think it might be time to put egos aside because it looks like someone needs a Fugees reunion bad.
