Michael JacksonEven in death, deceased pop legend Michael Jackson continues to cause controversy.

An exclusive hologram performance of the deceased star scheduled to hit stage at this Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards is now being disputed. According to TMZ, Akil David, who is said to control the rights to the hologram technology, filed suit late Thursday against the Michael Jackson estate, MJ’s Production Company and Dick Clark Productions to stop them from showing a hologram of Michael using David’s technology.

The projected life-size hologram of Michael Jackson is expected to showcase a never-before-released song, “Slave to the Rhythm”. The display, similar to that of Tupac Shakur’s holographic performance at the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, uses the same technology. David, who has plans for his own MJ holographic spectacle, wants to put a stop to the performance ASAP.

However, Michael Jackson estate lawyer, Howard Weitzman, is unfazed by David’s antics saying, “This is another Akil David stunt, no different than his claiming that Brandon Howard was Michael Jackson’s son. It is ludicrous…and the show goes on.”
