In the third game of a series dubbed the Subway Series between the Yanks and the Mets, Yankee’s rookie ace Masahiro Tanaka pitched his first career complete game shutout where he allowed only four hits. It’s always a beautiful thing to see an athlete play up to their contracts. Not to mention this is only his sixth start at the mound.

The Pinstripes end up beating the Mets 4-0 Wednesday night and in doing so snapped a four-game losing streak. The Mets are currently up in this season series 2-1.

Tanaka is 6-0 thus far as the ace for the Yankees. This has ESPN wondering if this guy will ever lose. Well Tanaka is no stranger to having lengthy spans of winning. While playing professional baseball in Japan, Tanaka went two years where he won 26 consecutive decisions and in 2013 he finished with a 30-0 record which included postseason wins.

So there is no doubt that the Bronx Bombers have themselves a winner. The seven-year, $155 million franchise investment in Tanaka has already proven thus far to have paid dividends.
