The story of Javaris Crittenton is becoming more and more convoluted as prosecutors have stated that they intend to show that the former pro basketball player may have been involved in the killing of a pregnant woman in California. This adds to the already troubled past that Crittenton has, which includes numerous murder charges and multiple conspiracy charges to violate the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.

It was previously reported that Crittenton joined the Crips after being drafted by the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, according to Fulton County Assistant District Attorney Gabe Banks.  For those who follow the NBA, you probably remember Crittenton for his incident with then Washington Wizards teammate, Gilbert Arenas.  The two were involved in a locker room confrontation involving guns and later suspended for the remainder of the season as a result.  Crittenton was released by the Wizards following the suspension.

The former NBA first-round draft pick is now facing more charges as he has become entangled in the murder of Jana Collins, who allegedly was the girlfriend of a rival gang member that Crittenton had problems with. While the prosecution is not saying that Crittenton actually pulled the trigger, they are saying that one of the men responsible for Collins death had the basketball star pay for his flight to Atlanta two days after the California murder.
