Today, So So Def Recordings, Inc has announced the signing of Roll Royce Rizzy. This deal comes not too long after the recent signing of Jagged Edge to the label. It appears that the deal came about during the remix to Rizzy’s hit “Gah Damn” featuring So So Def founder/CEO Jermaine Dupri, Twista, K Camp, and Lil Scrappy.
Rolls Royce Rizzy first dropped the “Gah Damn” track in 2013. The song grew legs and made it from the Internet to Jermaine Dupri who immediately decided to drop a verse on it.
“When I heard the record, it reminded me of how people talk in Atlanta,” said Dupri. “Atlanta is getting away from showing off its culture. ATL is not just about going to the club. There’s an entire lifestyle here that’s unique to any other place in the world. “Gah Damn” spoke to me in that way.”
Soon after the remix a deal was offered to Rizzy. Since then Dupri and Rizzy have been working diligently to deliver new music due out this summer.
