Not too long ago, Robin Thicke’s album was revealed to be titled after his wife, Paula Patton, from whom he’s been separated from since February. Now, the R&B singer attempts to “Get Her Back” with the music video for the first single off his upcoming album, Paula, which was especially written for her.
On-screen messages bombastically fly across the music video such as, “I wrote a whole album about you”, “I can’t make love to you anymore”, and “I hate myself”. If this doesn’t scream a plea for the love of his life back, then what does? The music video features near-replicas of the star-studded couple who parted ways a few months back, zooming in and shooting close-ups. Heavy symbolism is used as the cuts and bruises on his face represent his despair, longing, hurt and excessive misery without his high school sweetheart.
Check out the video and share your thoughts.
