Throughout the past year or so, there has been a certain sub-genre that is taking off in the scope of music’s biggest festivals and concerts (Ala; SXSW, Coachella, etc). It started out as a world where only those who dressed, and looked the part could thoroughly enjoy the sounds and the vibrations… but now without any question, it’s safe to say that EDM (Electronic Dance Music) is the new wave. Just ask Waka Flocka and Steve Aoki, along with other notable hip-hop act’s who have now started to dabble in the world of EDM.

Detroit producer, and hip hop enthusiast Mark Walton (@XLNCE) has put his musical bid in when it comes to integrating both Hip-Hop and Trap EDM. His new project, “STRIKE EP,” has amassed the attention of many EDM fans, including myself. He shared his brief, but concise thoughts on what made him make the transition over into the EDM world.

“I will forever be a golden age hip hop head i.e. J Dilla, The Pharchyde, Camp Lo etc. But my new found appreciation for the EDM Trap world opened a whole new side of me that I didn’t even know was there.” “STRIKE EP,” is the first of a trilogy, just a sample of what V2S2 (Very Very Secret Society) has to offer. “

As always, I encourage everyone to support good music, so do yourself a favor and go check out XLNCE’s music and follow him on his social media channels.
