In a surprise appearance rap mogul Jay Z joined Roc Nation recording artist Jay Electronica at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival this past weekend in NYC. The two performed “We Made It” .
Jay Z’s On the Run Tour with Beyoncé happened to hit the New York metro area just as the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend. A break between two shows at New Jersey’s MetLife stadium offered the rapper the perfect opportunity to make a surprise appearance during Jay Electronica’s headlining slot.
The Roc Nation boss stepped out on stage to deliver his verse over Big Daddy Kane’s “Young Gifted and Black” with support from labelmate Electronica. This segued into “We Made It,” the Soulja Boy remix that the two Jays released in March, then their 2010 collaboration “Shiny Suit Theory” and the Jay Z solo hit “P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement).”
Jay Z wasn’t the only special guest to take a turn during Electronica’s set. Earlier in the show, Electronica brought out Mac Miller to join him for “Suplexes Inside of Complexes and Duplexes” and J. Cole and Talib Kweli performed with him on “Just Begun,” as Miss Info reports.
