As T.I. prepares for the release of his upcoming album, Paperwork, he keeps on rolling out the singles including “About The Money” with Young Thug and “No Mediocre” with Iggy Azalea. The King of the South has now unleashed a new single, “Stay”, featuring Victoria Monet. There is no verification as to whether or not “Stay” is a follow-up single or a single just to amp the audience. “Stay” features vocal samples from Jay-Z’s “Song Cry” with a soulful mid-tempo, touching upon subjects including selling drugs and tackling life head on. Paperwork is said to be released this upcoming September.
Victoria Monet, born and raised in Sacramento, California, is one of the newest signees to Atlantic Records. Her urban swagger and unique style is demonstrated in her cover of Lorde’s “Royals” back in October of 2013. Monet has also released an official music video for her original cut track, “Malice in Wonderland” and made an appearance on rapper Nas’ track, “You Wouldn’t Understand”.
