Which musician had the best year? 2014 has been a good year for music, with high-grossing albums and tours released throughout the year. Veteran musicians like Beyonce and Coldplay have both released top-notch albums that were created for reasons like displaying a new sound and image. This year in Hip Hop left only Beyonce and Grand Hustle rapper Iggy Azalea on top of the charts, says SportsBettingDime.com.

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who released her debut album “The New Classic,” has reached an incredible amount of success in the hip hop world, especially for a newcomer. The album sold 52,000 copies and hit number one on iTunes Top Album Week, claims Rollingstone.com. Iggy has reached success for someone new in the game, it was up to her singles instead of her album which helped continue her status on the charts.According to Billboard.com, the Aussie rapper’s single “Fancy” (selling 283,000 downloads) was named Billboard’s top song of the Summer 2014.

"On The Run Tour: Beyonce And Jay-Z" - Opening Night In Miami Gardens

When it comes to deciding who had a top grossing music tour we would have to give it to Beyonce, along with her record-breaking self-titled album “Beyonce,” (released in December 2013) which after three days on sale broke the U.S. iTunes store records for the largest sales week for an album, with 828,773 sold in the first three days, according to Complex.com.

Although both have had successful tours in 2013, Beyonce and Jay-z’s “On The Run” tour topped in ticket sales. Jay-z’s “Magna Carter” tour made $1.2 million per night and Beyonce’s “Mrs. Carter” world tour made an easy $2 million per night. Now, according to Forbes.com, they are making 5 million a night and will equal to $100 million at the end of their “On The Run” tour.
