Over the weekend at the A3C Festival in Atlanta, some of the most influential women in hip-hop gathered together to speak about the culture. The A3C Ladies First: Women in Hip-Hop luncheon and panel included speakers Karen Civil (Independent Blogger), Debra Antney, (founder and CEO of Mizay Entertainment), Hannah Kang (General Manger of Grand Hustle), Shanti Das (Music Industry Executive) and Da Brat (Grammy-nominated rapper) and special guest Camila Crews (Strength of Nature Global Brand Manager).
The ladies discussed their own experiences in the industry, struggles, and how female rappers were portrayed in the industry. Also, the panel was hosted by ASCAP and Hip Hop Wired and moderated by Bossip’s senior editor Janee Bolden.
