Within the past hour, Suge Knight appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom to answer charges for allegedly assaulting a female photographer because she was caught filming his 4-year old son without his consent. Although the prosecution has elected to go ahead with the case, the judge has stated in open court that there may be some “wrinkles” in prosecuting the case. Because of Suge Knight’s prior arrest record, the judge was forced to set his bond at $500,000.00.

The woman has been identified as Leslie Redden, a former actress and part-time paparazzi who use to dress up as the character “Catwoman” and pose for photos with tourists on Hollywood Blvd. in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for as much as $5.00.
Suge’s rap sheet is a little longer, with the 49-year-old first arrested in 1992 on assault and weapons charges for which he received probation.
However in 1996, he was arrested after security cameras at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas caught him and a group of other men beating a gang member. He was sentenced to nine years in prison for parole violation.
He was imprisoned twice more for violating his parole after being caught consorting with gang members and then assaulting a valet in 2003.
Suge has also been the victim of a number of serious crimes – and has been shot three times.
Because of his extensive rap sheet, prosecutors will likely attempt to get some jail time but that will only happen if the alleged victim sticks to the story that he was the one who in fact stole her camera.
