Actor Idris Elba returns to his musical roots with first single “You Give Me Love.” The track which features singer and rapper Maverick Sabre is a fusion of pop/R&B and the sound of South Africa.
“You Give Me Love” will be featured on his latest project “Idris Elba Presents: Mi Mandela.” The eleven-track album was produced while Elba was filming the movie “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” he was drawn by the culture and music of South Africa.
“South Africa has numerous different tribes and each one has a musical expression, and each one has a very unique, different sound style. At the time I had my studio at the apartment, I was staying in while I was making Mandela—a little keyboard, a laptop—and as an experiment to myself, I vowed to keep making music.” said Idris.
